The Castell Malgwyn is an extremely homely Georgian country house with river frontage and spacious gardens. There are many walks that provide endless hours of rambling through wild, tranquil woods, alongside river banks, the nearby coastal path or great beaches. Falconry available at the hotel (needs to be booked in advance). All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and are non-smoking, there is a Lounge and Bar Lounge for residents, as well as a 40 seater restaurant. Newly decorated Function Room for up to 200 people. Licensed for Civil Weddings.
The journey time by car from London is approximately four hours. Travelling from London on the m4 continue to the end of the motorway at Port Abraham Service Station. From there take the a48 to Carmarthen. Then take the a484 to Cardigan via Newcastle Emlyn skirts the River Teifi as it enters the village of Llechryd. Turn left over the old stoney bridge at Llechryd and the imposing gates and lodge od Castell Malgwyn are immediately on your right. A tree lined drive sweeps past the clock tower and stables to the car park in front of the mansion.
Local Attractions :
• Cilgerran Castle (2 Miles) - The impressive ruins of Cilgerran Castle from the old tow-path that leads down - stream from the Hotel and from Cilgerran itself.
• Cenarth Coracle Centre (7 Miles) - The coracle centre is nearby the upper waters of the Teifi crashing over the Cenarth Fall.
• Poppet Sands (9 Miles) - 1 mile expanse of sand backed by sand dunes. Great to walk the dog, breathe fresh, sea air and feel great.
• Pembroke Coastal Path (10 Miles) - Fantastic walks along the coast of Pembroke and Ceredigion. See Dolphins, seals, sea birds and beautiful cliff scenery.
