From the North:
- Take the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen Road.
- Thainstone House is located on the last exit of the 3rd roundabout upon reaching Inverurie.
From the South:
- Coming through Aberdeen, look out for the A96 Inverness Road and at the outskirts of Inverurie, Thainstone is indicated to the left.
Aberdeen Airport is a 14 minute taxi journey away.
Local Attractions :
• Inverurie (1 Mile) - It is also an ancient Royal Burgh, the main town of the province of the Garioch, with much to show that the communities have thrived here since pre-history.
• Castle Fraser (2 Miles) - The most elaborate 'Z' plan castle in Scotland, was begun in 1575 by the 6th laird, Michael Fraser, and incorporates an earlier building. The castle was the masterpiece of two great families of master masons, Bell and Leiper.
• Kintore (5 Miles) - Established in the late 12th century (about 1190) as a royal burgh, Kintore had its royal charter renewed by King James IV in 1506.
• Aberdeen city (27 Miles) - The Granite City, The Flower of Scotland, The Silver City by the Golden Sands. With sparkling granite buildings, the cosmopolitan city has one of Scotlands most enchanting skylines, while the historical old town has an air of time gone by.
