A charming period residence over 300 years old, set in its own grounds, offering somewhere to relax and enjoy. Set in delightful grounds, only 1.6 km (one mile) from the centre of Taunton. The owners have opened up 3 of the original Inglenook fireplaces and a complete working well, over 12 metres (40 feet) deep, which was uncovered in the kitchen. Please note the restaurant is used by business people Monday to Thursday, who prefer to eat in, and we have found that our weekend guests tend to go into Taunton rather than eat at the hotel. Therefore, please check with the hotel if the restaurant is open, as we may have other functions booked in advance at weekends. We can advise on where to eat if the dining room is booked. The restaurant is closed on Sundays. Please note that we do have 2 very rare and friendly Dandi Dinmonts dogs at the hotel.
